Join in the fun!

This weekend, over 150 artists from across the Greater New Haven region will open their private art studio to the public.  City-Wide Open Studios provides visitors with opportunities to meet these artists and experience their new work in person.

Plan Your Studio Visits

This website provides you with the tools to map own your studio visit route.  Start your planning by first previewing the participating artist  artwork through portfolios in the Artist Directory. Here, you may search by artist name, neighborhood, medium, keyword, or by distance from your house or another zipcode.  Below the studio address you will find a mapping link that will open the location in Google Maps.

You may also use the blank neighbood maps provided below to create a custom plan.

Westville is the host to many Open Studios artists and participating local galleries.  Complement your visit to Westville with a stop at one of the many area businesses or restaurants. CWOS 2009 Westville Map.pdf  Google Map

Downtown New Haven has the second greatest concentration of Open Studios artists this year.  Stop by Artspace to view the juried CWOS exhibition, Dispersion, and walk to numerous open studios in the neighboring blocks. CWOS 2009 Downtown.pdf  Google Map 

Hamden and North Haven are just a short car or bus ride away.  Visit open studios in the beautiful neighboring towns.  And, don't forget to stop at Paier College of Art for a preview artists destined to be the "next big thing." CWOS 2009 Hamden Map.pdf  Google Map

Bike Tours (weather permitting)

Guided bike tours are offered once each day at 12:30pm.  Meet at Artspace, 50 Orange Street, New Haven at noon.

NOTE: Helmets, water, and spare tubes are recommended. Rides are—slow paced and fairly easy. Bikes are not provided.

Artspace is located at 50 Orange Street at the corner of Crown Street in Downtown New Haven serves as the CWOS festival hub.  Volunteers will be on hand all weekend to assist you with your studio visit planning and mapping.
