Artist Statement
Janet Lage organizes contrasting colors, forms, and lines to represent both discord and harmony. Colors materialize as force fields and portals, forms divide and multiply, and lines seek to bind and wrap. She brings the intimate to life, giving the seemingly inconsequential consequence, stirring it into the whirlwind of our everyday existence.
Select pieces from the HOSE ME series will be shown at Erector Square, Building 3, 2nd floor, Oct 3-4 during City Wide Open Studios. Also on exhibit in New Haven, select pieces from the LAID RUBBER series are currently on exhibit at Gallery 195, New Alliance Bank, 4th floor, Church St, New Haven, through November 13.
