Sunday, October 9: Speed Networking with curators: 1-3:30 pm

Friday, October 14: Grand Opening Reception at Artspace! 5-8 pm

Meet all the artists and preview their work. Ninth Square's

Project Storefronts and nearby galleries will also be open late.

Saturday & Sunday, October 15 & 16:  Erector Square weekend

featuring 100 artists in the former Erector Set factory. Artists

demonstrations throughout the complex.

Saturday & Sunday, October 22 & 23: Passport Weekend.

Dozens of neighborhoods in New Haven, West Haven,

North Haven, Hamden. Private & Group studios normally closed to

the public will be open both days. Studio demos, talks and

performances. Artist-designed passport stamps for adventurous

explorers, prizes for frequent fliers. Plus free guided bike tours.

Saturday & Sunday, October 29 & 30: The Alternative Space -

an empty building for temporary installations.

November 1: Special closing party for registered artists, to be held

at the Yale University Art Gallery

The free Official Map & Guide will appear October 13. We

look forward to seeing you in the studios!

CWOS t-shirt design 2011

The results of our CWOS t-shirt design contest are in and George Corsillo's design has been selected for the 2011 CWOS t-shirt. Congratulations to George and Design Monsters, and thank you all for your wonderful designs and participation in the voting process. A special thanks to Nick Robinson, Maya Szatai, Paul Goehrke and Nancy Sepe for the wonderful designs they created that made it to the final ballot, and a huge thanks to the New Haven Advocate for hosting our online voting process. We will have information later this month about the availability of the CWOS t-shirt.

      Join us on facebook to get CWOS updates and information on our upcoming

CWOS app. With the CWOS app you will be able to see a real time map of all

CWOS events, see other events happening near your studio that day, participate

by sharing what will be happening in your studio and provide viewers with times 

for your events. Visitors and artists will also be able to add location photos

of work, performances and events.

Over the past fourteen years, City-Wide Open Studios (CWOS) has drawn thousands of visitors to explore New Haven's neighborhoods while discovering artists, galleries, and the treasures of our city. City-Wide Open Studios celebrates contemporary art in all its myriad forms, and is undoubtedly Connecticut's leading visual arts event. Art dealers and curators from the region and beyond have used CWOS as a resource to discover new artists, plan upcoming shows, and buy art. As one of the largest Open Studios programs in the country, CWOS connects hundreds of local artists with the greater New Haven community -- and beyond.
