Who Can Participate
Who May Apply:
All Connecticut Visual Artists
CWOS is open to all Connecticut visual artists. You do not need to have a studio to participate in CWOS. However, artists in the New Haven area are encouraged to open their studios during Open Studios weekend, October 3-4. If you do not have access to a studio in the Greater New Haven area, you may find a temporary studio.
Art Students
You are welcome to register as a CWOS member artist. Or you may wish to join CWOS as part of a group. Ask your art department if your school would like to participate in Open Studios weekend (see below).
Artist Groups and Special Programs
Artspace welcomes groups who are pursuing the visual arts as part of a collective, social, educational, or community program. Works and information regarding members of a group may be uploaded to the year-round online directory. Likewise, if your group has a space used to make art in the neighborhood, it may be opened up to the public as part of Open Studios weekend in October. You can register to open your own studio using our online system, and your group will be listed as a single registrant.
Non-Profit Arts Organizations
Artspace welcomes other non-profit arts organizations to register for CWOS, to highlight members of your organization through the year-round online directory. You are also welcome to host a special exhibition during CWOS in October. Additionally, we are offering reduced advertising rates in our publications for fellow non-profits. For more information, please contact Artspace directly.
Please contact the CWOS Director to find out how your organization can be part of CWOS.
Commercial Galleries
Please contact the CWOS Director to find out how your gallery can be part of CWOS.
