Artist Statement
The subjects in my drawings and digital animations include parasitic cell tower trees that populate the landscape becoming historic landmarks, roadside curiosities and subjects of natural disasters. Spinning Tree Turbines that utilize an environmental design to blend into the landscape in order to provide clean energy to fuel the suburban lifestyle of excess and consumption. Visions of a future where big oil companies have succeeded in their aims to drill for oil near Robert Smithson's Spiral Jetty on the Great Salt Lake in Utah only to meet an act of resistance. Finally, a series of drawings that poses animals against the technology that destroys their habitat and offspring.

These projects come together to reflect on our current interactions with the landscape. Together they pose questions about the notion of control of the environment and envision an optimistic and apocalyptic view of the future.

A solo exhibition at Seton Gallery will be on view Sept. 3rd - Oct. 4th.
